Artist's description: The Experimental Lab was drawn by pen, soft pastel, highlighter, and watercolor. As the name of this artwork, I wanted to do experimental attempt for the painting. I had used graphite, watercolor and soft pastel, I would like to use not an art supply, highlighter. The color of highlighter feels new like a neon sign in modern days with the high-technology generation. I thought art also evolves over time with the previous experiences from our ancestors, which always stay in us by DNA. From the wall painting in a cave Lascaux to visual art using technology, every being has always pursued the new and developed invention. I tried to break every rule I had for "What is painting" or "How should a painting looks like." The small letters on the fabric and even the technique for the letter "The" on this painting was all the result of my effort. It is not that sensationally experimental, but the meaning of this work is still meaningful for me.
