Artist's description: Hi,
On a recent trip to Florence, we were thrilled to see the Duomo Cathedral in the flesh. The sight takes your breath away - particularly when viewed down one of the cool, dark side streets. Using the sketches we made and from memory I have produced this labour of love in my studio back home.
The work is freely painted using quick brush strokes on duck canvas. This material is great for oil paint because of its roughness and flexibility.
The spaghetti vongole was pretty good too!
