My name is Tatiana Jiménez and I’m an artist from Colombia based in South Florida. Art has always been an important part of my life and a way to express my creativity to connect with others. My artistic process comes to a conceptualization when different mediums and recycled objects collected in my daily journey come together to tell a story full of colors and emotions. For me, everything can become a part of my work, I am always on the look for objects that can complement my mixed media work by juxtaposing with the different mediums to compose an artwork full of creativity and movement taking my narrative to unique and often unexpected ways. Art has the ability to speak to people and transmit​ compelling messages, making artists instruments of communication. For me recycling is important when looking forward to our future, and that is a message I want to transmit, so I frequently work with recycled, reclaimed, and repurposed materials. These recycled objects provide my work a strength of concept and depth of life, creating connections with my audience. Additionally, I am passionate about creating different textures, to provide a base to my work, resulting in an enriched and remarkable composition.See less
