Pompea Di Stefano è oggi Artista, Pittrice e Decoratrice. Nasce a Potenza nel 1959, ma all’età di due anni la sua famiglia si trasferisce in Lombardia dove vive per quattordici anni e dove impara ad apprezzare il paesaggio pavese, la sua storia e l’arte che la circondano. Già in età scolastica ottiene consensi ed apprezzamenti da parte di maestri e professori di educazione artistica. All’età di sedici anni torna al suo paese natio e si appassiona ancor di più alla pittura. I suoi primi dipinti ad olio risalgono a quell’epoca. AUTODIDATTA, consulta riviste e libri specializzati riguardanti la pittura ad olio, la pittura ad acquerello in tutte le sue forme e sfaccettature e dipinge tutto ciò che è realistico e che le crea emozioni; i giochi di luce, i colori forti, gli alberi, il mare, i cavalli, i volti, gli scorci avvolti in una luce particolarmente poetica di un tardo pomeriggio o di una splendida alba. Inizialmente dipinge solo per hobby, perché non vuole essere vincolata da canoni, regole e giudizi. Dal 2000 ad oggi però, comincia ad esporre le sue opere. Per lei deve essere solo lo stato d’animo ad ispirare le sue opere ad indicare il colore da usare, non solo perché esiste una tecnica, non solo perché le è stato detto da qualcuno che forse era meglio cambiare stile e seguire l’onda del momento. E’convinta che le convinzioni altrui limitino le sue. Quello che le piace dipingere, o disegnare, o creare, è semplicemente ciò che la emoziona. L’arte, per lei, è l’incanto di un tramonto, la bellezza della natura che si riverbera dall’Universo. Cosa c’è di più bello di ciò che ci circonda. Realizza ogni tecnica: dal carboncino all’acquerello, dalla pittura su tela a quella sui tessuti, sopra ogni tipo di supporto, sopra qualsiasi materiale, sperimentando tecniche varie. E’ comunque molto critica nei confronti delle sue creazioni. Lavora su commissione, ed ha creato mosaici, realizzato trompe l’oeil e collaborato per manifesti pubblicitari. Ha conseguito corsi di decoupage e modellazione della creta.Il suo sogno è quello d realizzare sculture. Vuole trasmettere all’osservatore la stessa emozione che prova il suo animo. Trova spesso ispirazione da bellissime foto scattate da bravissimi fotografi, perché non potendo raggiungerle fisicamente, si immerge virtualmente in quelle fantastiche ed inesauribili risorse della natura, prendendone spunto. Vorrebbe viaggiare in mondi lontani, per conoscere altre realtà ed ispirarsi a nuove emozioni. -- Pompea Di Stefano is now an artist, painter and decorator. She was born in Potenza in 1959, but at the age of two years her family moved to Lombardy where she lived for fourteen years and where she learned to appreciate the Pavia landscape, its history and the art surrounding it. Already in school age she obtained approval and appreciation from teachers and art education professors. At the age of sixteen she returned to her native country and became even more passionate about the painting. Her first oil paintings date back to that time. She is self-taught, she consults magazines and specialised books about oil painting, watercolour painting in all its forms and facets and paints everything that is realistic and creates emotions; the plays of light, the strong colours, the trees, the sea, the horses, the faces, the views wrapped in a particularly poetic light of a late afternoon or a beautiful dawn. Initially she paints only as a hobby, because she does not want to be bound by canons, rules and judgments. From 2000 until today, however, he began to exhibit his works. For her it must be only the mood that inspires her works to indicate the colour to use, not only because there is a technique, not only because she was told by someone that perhaps it was better to change style and follow the wave of the moment. She is convinced that other people's beliefs limit her own. What she likes to paint, or draw, or create, is simply what she finds exciting. The art, for her, is the enchantment of a sunset, the beauty of nature that is reverberates from the Universe. What is more beautiful than what surrounds us. She uses every technique: from charcoal to watercolour, from painting on canvas to painting on canvas. On fabrics, over any kind of support, over any material, experimenting with various techniques. She's still very critical of his creations. She works on commission, and she has created mosaics, made trompe l'oeil and collaborated for billboards. She has taken courses in decoupage and clay modelling. Her dream is to making sculptures. She wants to convey to the viewer the same emotion that she feels his soul. She often finds inspiration from beautiful photos taken by great photographers, because unable to reach them physically, she virtually plunges into the fantastic... and inexhaustible resources of nature, taking inspiration from them. She would like to travel in distant worlds, to get to know other realities and be inspired by new emotions.See less
