On September 27th the now-famous “Fridays for Future” event took place; a massive global call to protest in cities all around the world. Fridays for Future are events organized mainly by students and environmental organizations to protest against climate change and the non-reaction of big companies and politicians.
These events are clearly inspired by the powerful figure of Greta Thunberg, the young Swedish activist who became the symbol of a whole new generation fighting for sustainability and to protect our dear planet Earth. At only 16 years old, Greta is undoubtedly impressive and has managed to raise awareness in fellow boys and girls of her age who have repeatedly taken the call to fight against Climate change.
“You say you love your children above all else and yet you are stealing their future in front of their very eyes.”
Fridays for Future are now global events, bringing together millions of people in cities all around the world. It’s such a good feeling and relief to see that people are starting to feel more responsible and to change their habits. Each one of us has the power to do something, even small things!
At Artupia, we support the movement to protect the environment 100%. In fact, from the very beginning, Artupia has been a firm supporter of the fight against pollution. Last June, we decided to host an event in our courtyard to spread these values through Art: #MakeArtNotPollution. In collaboration with BOOM Image Studio, our goal was to spread awareness and show our guests that recycled materials can have a second life and be turned into Art. We like to also promote our artists who use eco-sustainable materials for their work.
We believe that Art has the immense power to transmit strong messages, and that is why today we chose Greta Thunberg as a subject for our Custom Painting.
Completed by Gerardo La Porta, Greta Thunberg is an inspiration for us and definitely one of the most courageous figures of our times. We don’t know if Greta will be capable of changing the world into a better and more environmentally respectful place, but our faith and respect is undoubtedly with her!
